Summary
Twilio IVR system installed on sign call and office lines to eliminate robocall spam. "Press 1 to talk to an agent" prompt filters out 99% of automated callers.
How It Works
A Twilio-powered IVR (Interactive Voice Response) intercepts all inbound calls to the sign rider number and the office line. Callers hear a simple prompt:
"Press 1 to talk to an agent."
Robocallers and autodialers cannot respond to DTMF prompts. Real buyers press 1 and connect normally. Spam calls drop off automatically.
What Agents Need to Know
- Caller ID displays "Sign Call" but the call may originate from a different number. The sign number printed on the rider is still valid and still routes correctly.
- FUB lines are registered on the DNC (Do Not Call) list. Compliance is handled at the system level.
- No agent action required. The IVR is transparent to the agent — calls that reach you have already been filtered.
Why This Was Implemented
Agents were getting hammered by spam calls from sign riders. Every listed property's sign number was being scraped by robocall systems, generating dozens of junk calls per day per agent. This was a productivity drain and a morale issue. The IVR fix is simple, cheap, and nearly 100% effective.
